Mixform is a free portfolio builder for creative people generally. Their own front page describes it as free actor websites, filmmaker portfolios and visual artist sites, and their examples include actors, a photographer and a makeup artist. It is a general creative portfolio tool that welcomes actors.
Web For Actors only does one thing. Everything here assumes you are a performer: the resume, the credits, the reels, the casting-facing layout. That is a limitation as much as a feature, and which way it cuts depends on what you are.
The difference that matters
Both give you a free site with a custom domain on a design that works on a phone. On that ground there is genuinely not much in it, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
The difference is what happens next. A portfolio builder gives you a place to put things. It does not go and get them. Every credit, every reel, every headshot is something you upload, arrange and later remember to update.
Web For Actors starts by looking you up. It reads your IMDb, Backstage, YouTube and Vimeo profiles and builds the site from what is already there, then keeps watching them. When a new credit lands or a new reel goes up, the site catches up without being asked. That is the whole idea, and it is the one thing on this page that a general portfolio tool is not trying to do.

Where Mixform is the better choice
- You are not only an actor. If you also shoot, direct, paint or do makeup, a general portfolio tool will not fight you. Ours will: it wants to talk about credits and reels, and a photographer does not have those.
- Your work is the visual, not the resume. Mixform's examples lean toward image-led portfolios. If what you need is a gallery that looks good and gets out of the way, that is squarely what they do.
- You want to arrange it yourself. Some people want to place every element. Automatic import is the opposite of that, and if it sounds like a nuisance rather than a relief, you will prefer theirs.
Where we are the better choice
- You are a working actor with credits that keep coming. The import and the self-updating are worth most to the people who change most.
- You want it to look like an actor's site to casting, because it was designed for that one job and nothing else.
- You do not want a project. Ninety seconds and a name, rather than an afternoon of uploading.
- You want to change the design later without moving your content across by hand. Ninety-eight designs, switchable whenever.
